Privacy

thestock.space is run by its founder as a sole proprietorship in India. For privacy questions, write to contact@thestock.space.

You can use the screener, stock pages, Compare and the rest without an account. Then we store nothing about you on our side beyond ordinary server logs.

• Server logs. Our host (Vercel) records technical details of each request, such as the page asked for, time, and IP address, to run and protect the site.
• On your device (localStorage). Your theme choice, recent searches, recent comparisons, column and density choices, a local watchlist if you are signed out, and a random session id used only to rate-limit data-issue reports. These stay in your browser. Clearing site data removes them.
• Fonts. Page fonts load from Google Fonts, so Google sees your IP address and browser details when it serves them.

Accounts are optional and unlock watchlists, notes, alerts and saved screens. In our database (Convex) we store:

• Your email address and a hashed password (we cannot read your password). “Continue as guest” creates an account with no email.
• Your watchlists, notes and files attached to notes, alerts and the notifications they produce, saved screens and custom ratios, the people you follow, and display preferences.
• Push subscriptions, if you turn on browser notifications: the address your browser gives us for sending a notification, plus the keys needed to encrypt it. Your browser vendor’s push service relays the message.

Notes, watchlists and alerts are private to you. A saved screen is public only if you mark it public, and your email is never shown with it.

We store the metric or section you chose, your message, the page address, the time, and your email if you gave one. We use it only to check and fix the data, and to reply to you. You do not need an account to report.

None yet. We do not run analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. If we add a privacy-friendly analytics tool, we will name it here before it goes live.

We show no advertising. We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties except the services that run the site, listed below.

• Convex: our database and sign-in backend. Holds the account data above.
• Vercel: hosting, server logs, and storage of market data (which holds no personal data).
• Google Fonts: typefaces, as described above.
• Your browser’s push service (for example from Google, Apple or Mozilla), only if you turn on notifications.

These providers may process data outside India.

• Delete your account and data: email contact@thestock.space from the address on the account (or tell us your guest details) and we will delete the account, watchlists, notes, alerts, push subscriptions and saved screens. We aim to do this within 30 days.
• Access or correct your data: write to the same address.
• Stop notifications: turn them off in the Alerts page or in your browser’s site settings.
• Clear local data: clear site data for thestock.space in your browser.

The site is for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
